Privacy Policy

SystemWatch for Mac · CherryWave LLC · Last updated October 8, 2026

SystemWatch shows what your Mac is doing and helps you free up space. It is built to work on your Mac, and it collects as little as possible. This policy explains what leaves your Mac, when, and why.

What stays on your Mac

Monitoring data never leaves your Mac: CPU, memory, GPU, disk, network and battery readings, the list of running apps, your history, your alert settings, storage scans, and cleanup history. SystemWatch has no ads, no analytics or tracking software, and does not sell or share data.

AI features (SystemWatch Pro, App Store version)

Only when you use an AI feature (for example asking Bob a question, or asking SystemWatch to explain a slowdown or storage item), the app sends:

File contents are never sent. The request goes to SystemWatch's server, which forwards it through OpenRouter to the AI model's provider (currently OpenAI) to produce the answer and returns it to the app. OpenRouter is set so that providers may not keep or train on this data. Our server does not store your questions or answers; its logs contain only technical details (such as timing and error codes) with identifiers in hashed form.

Before the first AI request, SystemWatch asks for your permission. You can use SystemWatch without AI features.

Purchases and usage limits

To confirm a Pro purchase and apply fair-use limits to AI features, the app sends the App Store–signed record of your purchase to our server. We keep the purchase's anonymous transaction identifier together with daily and monthly usage counts, and whether Apple has told us the purchase was refunded. We never receive your name, email address or payment details; Apple handles payment.

Voice questions

When you ask Bob by voice, your speech is turned into text on your Mac where your Mac supports it. Otherwise Apple's speech recognition service may process it, under Apple's privacy policy. SystemWatch does not record or keep audio.

Website version

The version sold on our website uses the AI provider and API key you choose. Requests go directly from your Mac to that provider under its privacy policy; they do not pass through our servers.

Where data is processed

Our server runs on Google Cloud in the European Union. Usage counts are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in the European Union. AI requests are processed by the model's provider (currently OpenAI) through OpenRouter, which may be outside the European Union. We only use providers whose terms require them to protect this data and use it only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Usage counts are kept for up to about three months after the period they cover. Refund records are kept for as long as they're needed to prevent misuse of refunded purchases.

Your choices

Children

SystemWatch is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
